Mas is just not meaningful.

But Christmas is.  🙂

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11, NIV)

brokenness . . thanks

Out of true brokenness truly healed by God comes true thanks.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3, NIV)

The Quest

The life of a believer is full of adventure.

This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” (from Romans 8:15, the Message Paraphrase)

The only One

“. . We’re aware of the fact that as soon as we say there’s some kind of exclusivity to the person of Christ, something unique about Him, that we’re at the same time saying something about everyone else.” Michael Ramsden

“I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who came before me were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them. Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep. A hired hand will run when he sees a wolf coming. He will abandon the sheep because they don’t belong to him and he isn’t their shepherd. And so the wolf attacks them and scatters the flock. The hired hand runs away because he’s working only for the money and doesn’t really care about the sheep.

“I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. So I sacrifice my life for the sheep. I have other sheep, too, that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd. (John 10:7b-16, NLT)

How do I know Jesus Christ is the right way?

The answer is found in Scripture.

We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. (1 Corinthians 2:12, NIV)

And she lived happily ever after . .

God is my happily ever after.

Selfless God

The only worst news to God than the sacrifice He would make for us would have been if there had been no way for us to come back to Him.

That’s how selfless He is.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8, NIV)

My purpose

I have just realized . . My express purpose for being on earth is to know You more and to become more like You so I may enter Heaven as a victor by Your grace and so I may bring others out of fear and into Your love.

Reflection from September 8

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. (Ephesians 5:16-17, NIV)
